How to Share Photos on Google Drive

Google Drive offers 15GB of free cloud storage that you can use to store whatever suits you best. For photos in particular, G-Drive supports .JPEG, .PNG, .GIF, .BMP, .TIFF and .SVG formats. You can share photos privately with specific people using their email through the Share feature. Creating a public link is the best choice if you want your photo to be accessible to a large number of people. Without further ado, let’s get straight into the details of how to share photos on google drive.

Before you start:

You will then have to choose from the options listed below. Then refer to this section to understand what each does.

You can determine what permissions the person you shared the file with has.

  • View shared drives, files and folders: they can only view the contents of the folder.
  • Add comments to files in shared drives: they can leave a comment and give their opinion.
  • Make, approve and reject file changes: they can upload, modify or delete the content.

Your photo can be publicly or privately accessible when you use the photo link.

  • Limit: this means that only people added via the Share function can open this link.
  • The one with the link: means anyone on the internet with that link can see it.

  1. Open any browser, type drive.google.com in the URL bar and press Enter.
  2. Sign in to your Google account if you haven’t already.
  3. press New and select the appropriate option.

  1. Right click on the photo/folder you are trying to share and select to share.
  2. Enter theemail / name of the person you want to share the photo with.
  3. Select Viewer, Commentator or Editor as needed and click TP submit.

Get links to share files on Google Drive

  1. Right-click on the photo/folder you are trying to share and select Get the link.
  2. Select Restricted or Anyone with the link, as appropriate.
  3. Select Viewer, Commentator or Editor as appropriate. We advise you to do not select Editor here because anyone with the link can edit/delete the content.

Share Google Drive Photos via Desktop App

  1. Start thegoogle drive app and To log in to your Google Account if you haven’t already.
  2. Awards Windows + E to open File Explorer or open Searcher in Mac.
  3. Skip to Google Drive > My Drive.
  4. Copy here your photos. You can easily create folders and organize/edit the contents of your disc.
  5. Right click on the image or folder you are trying to share and click Share with Google Drive.
  6. Check the web version section above, as the authorization steps are the same.

Share Google Drive photos from Android

Upload photos to Google Drive

  1. Launch the Google Drive app To log in to your Google Account if you haven’t already.
  2. Push the button add ( + ) at the bottom right and click charged. The scan option uses your camera to take a live photo and upload it.

Share Photos to Drive from Android Phone

  1. Locate the photo in your Google Drive, tapthree dots icon next to the file name and select to share.
  2. Enter address Recipient Email in the People section.
  3. Tap the icon Pen and select Can edit, comment or view if applicable.
  4. Write a message if you wish and press the icon Share above.

  1. Press the heading Who has access at the bottom of the Share page.
  2. keep link sharing disabled to activate it. If it’s already on, leave it as it is.
  3. Tap the icon eye and select Can edit, comment, or view if needed. We advise you to do not select Editor here because anyone with the link can edit/delete the content.

Download photos on iOS

  1. Launch the Google Drive app To log in to your Google Account if you haven’t already.
  2. Push the button add ( + ) at the bottom right and open Download > Photos and Videos.
  3. Select the photos you want to share and tap charged at the top.

Share photos on iOS

  1. Locate the photo in your Google Drive, tap thethree dots icon next to the file name and select to share.
  2. Enter address Recipient Email share the photo with him.
  3. Select Edit, Comment, or View as needed.

People and relationship management

  1. Tap the icon three-point and open Manage people and connections.
  2. Leave as with restriction if you want to allow access only to people you have already shared this photo with.
  3. Skip to The one with the link if you want anyone with the link to be able to access it, regardless of their permission.
  4. Select Edit, Comment or View as needed. We advise you to do not select Edit here because anyone with the link can edit/delete the content.

Sync is enabled by default on the Google Drive desktop app.

  1. Click on the G-Drive icon in the system tray (bottom right of the screen).
  2. Press the gear settings at the top right and select resume sync.

If you go up Settings > Preferences, you can also add a folder from your PC and sync it with Drive. In the Sync section of Drive, you can choose between Streaming and Mirroring files.

First make sure your photo format is supported by Google Drive (.JPEG, .PNG, .GIF, .BMP, .TIFF, .SVG). Restart your device and try downloading and sharing now. If you’re using the Google Drive app, try restarting the app and then reloading the file. On the PC, go to Google Drive app > Settings > Sign out. On Android / iOS, go to Settings > Apps > Drive and select force stop. As a last resort, you can uninstall and reinstall the app.

Why can’t I download photos from Google Drive?

If you’re having trouble downloading photos from Google Drive, it’s probably due to packet loss (unstable internet connection) or a corrupted app. The best way to fix these issues is to check your internet connection, reinstall the app, or switch to another browser (for the web version).

You can check who the photos are shared with using the feature to share. On the same page, you can also remove anyone you want to stop sharing photos.
