1. Check network connection

Let’s start with the basics. If your Samsung phone is having trouble detecting the network connection, internet data will not work on the phone. Even if you turn on mobile hotspot and connect your Samsung phone to another phone or PC, the internet does not work. Make sure you have some mesh bars to work with. Check the network bars in the status bar of your Galaxy phone. Try using the phone near a window to see if it can detect multiple network bars.

2.Turn airplane mode on and off

You certainly have also restarted the phone when you realized that the hotspot is not working on your Galaxy. Have you also tried restarting the mobile network on your phone via airplane mode. Turn it off for a minute and then restart it. Try connecting the mobile hotspot from your Samsung phone and see if it works or not.

3. Check your data plan

The Android operating system can sometimes be data intensive. With multiple apps and services running in the background, you might run out of data before the end of the month. You can check the remaining data balance with your carrier and then try connecting the mobile hotspot to other devices.

4. Reset your network settings

Resetting network settings allows you to fix minor issues with your mobile network and also with tethering not working on Samsung Galaxy. Here’s how to reset network settings on your Galaxy phone.

  1. Open the Settings menu on your Samsung Galaxy phone.
  2. Tap the Search icon at the top and search for Network Settings Reset.
  3. Find the same option among the suggestions and tap on it.
  4. Select Reset Network Settings and confirm your decision from the menu below.

Go to Samsung settings and enable mobile hotspot to share internet data.

5. Disable data saver mode

6. Disable Power Saving Mode

  1. Disable power saving mode and try again.
  2. Go to the Settings app and select the Battery and device maintenance option.
  3. Tap the Battery menu.
  4. Turn off the power saving switch.

7. Keep Mobile Hotspot Screen Active

The Samsung One user interface can be quite aggressive at times. The operating system may disable background tasks, such as mobile hotspot, to save phone battery. When tethering is enabled, you should keep the screen on all the time for a hassle-free experience. If you return to the home screen and lock your phone, the operating system may lock or shut down the hotspot.

8.Try USB tethering

If the hotspot connection does not work, you can take a USB cable and plug it into your PC or Mac to share the Internet. After connecting your Samsung phone using a data cable, you can open Settings and access the Connections menu. Select USB tethering and establish the connection. This trick saved us the day when our Galaxy A52 failed to turn on mobile hotspot. We used a data cable to connect the A52 to the computer and managed to share the internet data.

9.Update UI

Samsung regularly releases new operating system updates to add new features and fix bugs. The recent One UI 4 is no exception. Go to Settings and if a software update is available, you will see the banner above to install the latest operating system. Update One UI on your Samsung phone and re-enable mobile hotspot.
