How to farm for Kokomi in Genshin Impact

Sangonomiya Kokomi is one of Genshin Impact’s newest (and most powerful) healers – but you’ll need to farm her for her to reach her full potential. Guess that’s why you’re here, so let’s get started!
Kokomi levels up at the farm
Here’s what Kokomi will need for her level up:
What is a Lazurite anyway?
*Potential spoilers ahead* Varunada Lazurite and all of its different parts drop from six different bosses. Three weekly boss fights drop them: Under the Dragon-Queller, face Stormterrorand Enter the Golden House. These are weekly bosses, you can’t farm them over and over again – just wanted to let you know there’s a chance you’ll get some there. For agricultural purposes, you’ll want to go after the Hydro Hypostasis, Primo Geovishap, and loch rhodeia – although you probably know her as the Oceanid.
For farming purposes, you’ll be looking to fight each boss over and over again – but that’s a no-brainer. Routing between them and beating them over and over in order would be the fastest way to get the gems you need – but there are several alternatives.
The Hydro Hypostasis also drops the repudiation dew you need, so if you wanted to be more effective you could just fight it over and over again. It takes a bit longer because you’ll have to wait three minutes between respawns, but it’ll probably save you time in the long run. Also remember that you can use an alchemy table to upgrade your gems to the next level. Three of the previous gem tiers can be used to create one of the next tiers. This also goes for any other tiered material, so use that. You can also use Dust of Azoth to convert a gem piece to another gem of the same level.
Little ghosts and shiny pearls
Ghost Wraps, Cores, and Cores are obtained by killing Ghosts. Is killing the right word? can you to kill to ghost? Anyway, ghosts are little floating balls with an eye in the middle. There’s a Specter for each element – similar to Slimes – so plan accordingly when fighting them. Specters can be found on Watatsumi Island, Seirei Island, and Tsurumi Island. You can use this interactive Teyvat map to find their exact locations and track them.
*Spoilers ahead again* Now on to the 168 Sango Beads… 44 beads can be found all over Watatsumi Island and 10 around the Serpent’s Innards in Enkanomiya. Since that’s only 56 Sango Pearls, you’ll have to wait for the rest. That, or you could steal them from your friends. Just be sure to ask them first.
Talent Improvements
Did you think you were done? Wrong. You now need to farm in order to upgrade Kokomi’s talents. Here is what you will need:
- 9 lessons of the ephemeral
- 63 guides to the ephemeral
- 114 Philosophies of the ephemeral
- 18 spectral envelopes
- 66 spectral cores
- 93 spectral cores
- 18 Hellfire Butterflies
- 3 Crowns of Insight (one for reaching the maximum level of each talent)
- 4,957,500 Blackberries – yeah.
You know… I probably should have mentioned earlier that you need more Specter coins for Talents. Well, now you know. We would have come to this anyway really.

Your total for Specter stuff is 36 spectral envelopes, 96 spectral cores and 129 spectral cores. Again, you might want to consider joining a friend or stranger and killing their Spectra. Transience Talent books can be grown in the Violet Court estate on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. These can be upgraded to the same as all previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one.
Now let’s move on to “special” materials
*Spoilers ahead…again* So there are two ways to get these Hellfire Butterflies. The first is to fight the weekly boss – Narukami Island: Tenshukaku. The second way is to do this weekly boss fight anyway, then convert the other two possible drops – Ashen Heart or Molten Moment – into Hellfire Butterflies using Dream Solvent. You get Dream Solvent by defeating weekly bosses anyway, so don’t skimp on your weeklies. These materials are important regardless, but they are even more useful now that you can use Dream Solvent on them. The conversion rate of these materials is one to one, so I really hope you have accumulated materials and solvent.
The last item you’ll need will be a bit more…rare. Unfortunately, Crowns of Insight are currently limited to two fairly slow methods of obtaining them. The main way to get Crowns of Insight is through the Frosted Tree in Dragonspine and the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma. The only other way to get them is to participate in certain limited-time events. So be sure to follow the events of Genshin… I learned this the hard way.
You could make Kokomi a DPS character, but she’s really better suited as a support character. I will give you versions for Support Kokomi for now:
- Millelith Tenacity – 4
- Ocean-Tone Clam – 4
- Beloved Maiden-4
Compared to other characters, Kokomi is a little easier to build as you don’t need to mix and match artifacts. Tenacity of the Millelith gives you +20% to your HP as a two piece bonus. For all four pieces, you are looking for +20% to the ATK of all nearby party members with an elemental skill that hits an enemy. If that wasn’t enough, their shields get a 30% bonus for three seconds. This can trigger once every half second and can even be triggered when the character with TotM is not on the field.
Ocean Hued Clam’s two-piece set bonus is a simple +15% healing bonus. The four-piece bonus on the other hand, well…

Fortunately, Maiden Beloved is only +15% to character healing efficiency and a 20% bonus to healing received by all members of your party for 10 seconds after using an elemental skill or burst.
Either way, you’re looking for HP%/Energy Recharge, HP%/Hydro Damage, and Healing Bonus/HP% on your Sands, Goblet, and Circlet respectively. Aim for HP%, Energy Recharge, ATK%, Flat HP, and Flat ATK as your sub stats and you should be gold.
Your weapon options should be pretty easy to get since you don’t even really need 5 star weapons. If you have an old Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, then you’re in luck – it’s his best slot weapon from him as a support. You can also use Prototype Amber, Hakushin Ring, or Sacrificial Shards.
Where to go and with whom to go
Millelith Tenacity can be farmed at Ridge Watch Estate, Ocean Hued Clam at Sleepy Court Estate, and Maiden Beloved comes from Valley of Remembrance Estate.
You can set up Kokomi with Hu Tao (or Xiangling), Kazuha, and Bennett if you’re looking for a good Vaporize composition. For a permafrost comp, try Ganyu, Diona, and Venti, or swap the latter two for Ayaka and Kazuha.
End. To find? Because it has a fish theme?
Fish pun aside, that’s all I have for you for now. If you have other characters to farm, I’m sure Kokomi will help you through any fight. Maybe you could even pair her with Raiden Shogun for a weirdly tongue-in-cheek team-up.
