How to farm for Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact

The Raiden Shogun is the mighty and fearsome ruler of Inazuma in Genshin Impact, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to farm for her. This is where I come in. Here’s how to farm and build your Raiden Shogun.
Raiden Shogun level up in the farm
Here’s what Raiden Shogun will need for his level up:
Gems, gems, gems
Let’s start with your Vajrada Amethyst pieces. Chances are you have character breeding experiences or play regularly. If you ache for certain amethysts, there are several ways to get them. The first way to get them is to fight and win against weekly bosses and world bosses. *Spoilers ahead *the Stormterror, Childe, and Azhdaha Weekly Boss fights can drop shards on you. For a more consistent farm, you can challenge the electrohypostasis, manifestation of thunder, Cousin Geovishap, and, these cursed Coral Defenders.
For efficiency, you can switch between bosses by letting the previous one respawn when you defeat the next one. Doing a route between them would also be fairly easy, allowing you to redo them over and over again, leaving neither you nor them time to rest in between. If you get tired of farming, you can use an alchemy table to upgrade amethyst to its next level. Spending three of the previous level materials allows you to level up. This also applies to other multilevel materials. Alternatively, you can use Dust of Azoth to convert any level of a different gem to an amethyst of the same level.
More fights!
The Storm Beads you need are actually earned by claiming Thunder Manifestation rewards as well. If you wanted to save on some resin costs, just consider repeating the Thunder Manifestation fight instead. Remember that you will have to leave for three minutes after each fight to let it reappear. It’s really a choice to get quick gems or gather pearls and gems.
These handguards might be a little more troublesome, depending on your outlook. Then you go for those groups of Elemental Nobushi and Kairagi found around Inazuma. The Nobushi are the easiest and should go down without too much of a fight. The boring part is dealing with the Kairagi. There are two to manage – Dancing Thunder and Fiery Might, with their corresponding items. The problem here is that when you defeat one, the other powers up and heals if you’re not fast enough to take out the other. If you manage to constantly stagger it, you might get lucky because it can’t actually do the power-up animation. You can find these guys all over Inazuma, this interactive map of Teyvat so you can also find their exact location.
Now you can relax…a bit
Amakumo fruits grow in pairs on trees all around Seirai Island. As you will always find more than one, it might not take you long to farm them all. Sadly, there aren’t any vendors selling them, but on the bright side, you’ll only need them for Raiden Shogun – for now anyway. If you’re missing in your world, consider raiding a friend for them – they won’t (probably) care.)
Talent Improvements
Your farming is not done yet, Raiden Shogun still needs more materials for you to upgrade his talents. Here is what you need:
- 9 Teachings of Light
- 63 Guides of Light
- 114 Philosophies of Light
- 18 Old Handguards
- 66 Kageuchi Handguards
- 93 Famous Handguards
- 18 Molten Moments
- 3 Crowns of Insight (one for reaching the maximum level of each talent)
- 4,957,500 Mora – Yeah, sorry.
My apologies in advance, I feel like I misled you a bit. You’ll actually need more Mora and more Handguards…and more patience, come to think of it.
Your total for handguards is 36 old handguards, 96 Kageuchi handguards, and 129 Famous Handguards. It may take a little longer than you think. Light Talent Books can be farmed in the Violet Court Estate on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays and can be leveled the same as all previously listed materials.

*Spoilers ahead* There are really only two ways to get the Molten Moments you’ll need for his talents – and they both involve fighting. The first is to beat Signora’s weekly boss fight – Narukami Island: Tenshukaku. The second way is to beat her anyway, then use the other two possible drops – Ashen Heart or Molten Moment if you get them instead – to convert them into Hellfire Butterflies using Dream Solvent. Dream Solvent is obtained by defeating weekly bosses anyway, so be sure to keep fighting each week. The conversion rate is one to one, so I really hope you have accumulated materials and solvent.
The last item on your list is quite difficult to obtain, unfortunately. Crowns of Insight are arguably the most difficult to farm as they are currently limited to two methods of obtaining. The main way for you to get Crowns of Insight is through events. The only other ways to get them are the Frosted Tree in Dragonspine and the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma. Worship trees and you will be rewarded.
As she actually is the Raiden Shogun will not be outdone. She’ll be on your lot quite often as an Electro DPS, so we’re going to adorn her with our finest artifacts. Here is what you can use:
- Emblem of Broken Fate-4
- Noblesse Oblige – 2 / Thundering Fury – 2 / Emblem of Severed Fate – 2 / 2 pieces of any set +18% ATK /
- You will choose a combination of two of them and get the bonus 2 coins from them.
Set bonuses for EoSF grant you 20% Energy Recharge (two pieces) as well as an Elemental Burst damage buff equal to 25% of your Energy Recharge – up to a max of 75% (four rooms). Two pieces of Thundering Fury increase your Electro damage by 15% and the two piece bonus of Noblesse Oblige is a 20% buff to your Elemental Burst damage.

In terms of stats, you prioritize Energy Recharge or ATK Percentage for your Sands, Electro DMG or ATK Percentage for your Goblet, and Crit Rate/DMG for your Circle. The sub-stats you should look for are Crit Rate/DMG, ATK%, Energy Recharge, or Elemental Mastery.
When it comes to weapons, you consider Engulfing Lightning his best slot weapon, followed by Staff of Homa or Primordial Jade-Winged Spear. 5 star weapons are hard to get, I understand. If you don’t have any, you can instead use The Catch (at refinement five), a two-stacked lithic spear, Deathmatch, or Wavebreaker’s Fin.
Here’s where to go and who to go with
Emblem of Severed Fate can be farmed in the Momiji-Dyed Court Estate, Noblesse Oblige comes from Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern, and Thundering Fury can be found in Midsummer Courtyard. All artifacts can be farmed at any time, so take your time if you need it, after all the other farms I come to know you will be tired.
The Raiden Shogun likes to team up with Kujou Sara, Beidou and Bennett for a thunderous composition. Alternatively, you can trade Beidou for Kazuha. You can even swap all three for Eula, Rosaria, and Zhongli to create a Superconduct composition.
That’s it!
You have reached the end, now all you have to do is go out and start farming. Build up your handsome and strong Raiden Shogun and decimate anyone who gets in your way. You will also look pretty regal while you do it.
