Most Chromebooks don’t come with a PDF editor app by default, but there are Chromebook PDF editors that you can access using your Chrome web browser. Most free PDF editors technically allow “editing” of PDF files, but few allow full editing that includes existing text, images, and other elements of the document.

1. One of the best online PDF editors you can use from your Chromebook is Soda PDF Online. Select the PDF file and you will see the file name appear in a list. Select the drop-down menu next to OpenPDF and select Convert to Word. This will turn the PDF file into a Docx file. Download the file and you can edit it in Word and then save it as a PDF if you wish.

Notes: For most PDF files, the PDF to Word conversion is very good and the document should appear exactly as it appears in PDF format. This makes it easy to update text or images and then use the document in Word format or convert it back to PDF.
